Education was the message of the day as local students, teachers, and families took part in a rally at Penn Park in York.  Hosted by York City School District, the rally promoted the importance of education through its theme, “Education First, There’s No Place Like Home”.

The event celebrated schools in York and gave students an opportunity to show off their talents in music, poetry, and sports.

Elizabeth Bricker of Jackson Elementary School says, “Representing Jackson Elementary school. Yay! And we’re just trying to have the community come out and support education. We want to make sure that everyone knows that York City school district is the best school district around.”

This is the eighth annual, “Education First”, rally organized by York City School District.  And with New Hope Academy closing at the end of the school year, the rally also gave schools a chance to reach out to New Hope Charter students and parents.
