Elderly Lebanon man victim of lawn mowing burglar bandits

Police believe an elderly Lebanon man was the victim of a distraction burglary last week. The victim was mowing his grass Friday, May 2nd, around 9am, when a woman approached him and offered to cut the grass for him. The elderly man sat on his front porch while the woman cut his grass. After she left, the victim said he was missing $100 from his wallet, which was in his bedroom. He believes someone entered his house from the rear door and took the money while he was watching the woman mow his grass.

The female is described as a blonde woman, about 5’7 tall. The victims thinks she may have been going door to door prior to talking to him. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lebanon City Police at 717-272-6611.

This is a typical gypsy tactic and happens all the time. Never leave the back door unlocked while working in the front of the house and vice versa. That is asking for theft. These criminals often come equipped with SASE jiffy bags so they cannot be caught with stolen money or jewelry on their persons.. What appears to be a good deed is anything but.
