Folks in Lancaster County celebrated baby boomers and their families on Monday.  Spooky Nook Sports in Manheim hosted the “Lancaster Celebrates Seniors”, a free event which combined the 15th annual Lancaster 50Plus Expo and the 26th annual Lancaster Senior Games.

The expo offered visitors access to vendors, health screenings, live entertainment, and seminars.

Lon Wible, Deputy Director of the Lancaster Co. Office of the Aging says, “We have individuals who don’t see each other but this one time of the year when they come out and participate in the games. It really is an exciting time a lot of new friendships are made and it just gives older adults the opportunity to compete and really feel good about what they are doing.”

The senior games run until this Friday.  Lancaster County residents over 55 will participate in a variety of sporting events during the week-long games.
