A 12-year-old boy is facing charges after he assaulted his caseworker and threatened her with a knife in Penbrook last week, police said.
The juvenile is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and resisting arrest. The charges were filed in juvenile court.
Officers responded Thursday to a home along the 2300 block of Hoffer Street for a reported assault. According to police reports, the boy assaulted the case worker with his fists and then menaced at her with a knife.
The boy tried to run from police–but was captured after a brief foot chase.
The caseworker was taken to a a local hospital for treatment.
