A Chambersburg woman faces charges after hitting a 75 year old pedestrian and fleeing the scene. It happened at about 9:03 am Thursday at the intersection of Coffey Avenue and Opportunity Avenue in Greene Township.

State Police say the victim, Roy Rife, also of Chambersburg man, was struck as he was crossing the roadway in the crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle later identified as Stephanie Ann Osterman, 31, fled the scene.   Rife was flown to York Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

Charges against Osterman include Aggravated Assault by Vehicle, Accidents Involving Death or Personal Injury, Right of Way of Pedestrians in Crosswalks, Careless Driving, Reckless Driving, Duty to give information and Render Aid, Immediate Notice of Accident to Police, False Reports, and Required Financial Responsibility.
