New Hope Academy Charter School is officially closing. The York Dispatch reports Wednesday night the York City School Board unanimously voted to close New Hope and liquidate it’s assets. Last month the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania upheld the decision that it must close it’s doors by the end of the year. In 2012, the York City School Board voted to revoke New Hope’s charter before the school appealed to the Charter Appeal board and the Commonwealth Court. The board cited low test scores and possible ethics act violations in how the school is run. The public auction of the school’s assets and property is set for next month.
