A Steelton woman was charged Sunday with simple assault after police said she threatened a woman with a knife and then beat another woman with the leg of a kitchen chair.

Monaesha McNair, 24, was arrested Sunday night and taken to Dauphin County Booking Center for processing.

Police responded to the 500 block of South 2nd Street for a report of an active assault. According to police reports–McNair came home to find two adults engaged in sex acts inside the home. Authorities said McNair became angry and threatened one of the women  with a kitchen knife, police said.  The victim was able to knock the knife to the floor in an effort to defend herself.

But that didn’t stop McNair–police said she ripped off a leg from a kitchen chair and began beating the other woman.

The fight escalated even further and spilled out onto the street.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 9.
