York City officials are partnering up with the York Revolution to hit a home run in the local housing market with a new Homebuyer Incentive Program. According to officials, downtown residents typically invest more in the local community. So, the York Revs are offering their employees a grant worth 15% of the home’s price up to 10 thousand dollars if they buy homes in the city.

“I hope other city employers will join me in offering this incentive to their employees. Not only are their specific benefits to neighborhoods and to the city as a whole, but I can think of no other way to give our city and its leaders the vote of confidence they deserve,” said York Revolution President and General Manager Eric Menzer.

WellSpan Health and York College will also take part in the incentive program.

York City Mayor Kim Bracey says the program will quote “reintroduce York to a new population and generation.”
