Lockdown in effect at Dauphin County Prison

Dauphin County Prison went into lockdown as of 8:45 am this morning, after prison staff discovered a piece of metal was missing from a block. During  the lockdown inmates remain in their cells.

Officials have canceled visitation for today. The restriction remains in place until the lockdown is lifted. The lockdown also allows staff to make a thorough search of the prison for safety and security reasons.

No injuries to inmates and employees have been reported.
