Police: Carlisle man tased 3 times after resisting arrest, attacking cop

CARLISLE–A man was arrested Thursday and tased three times  after police said he attacked an officer while resisting arrest.

Scott E. Robinson, 30, is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, robbery, simple assault, resisting arrest, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Officers responded to Carlisle Borough Hall at 53 West South Street around 3:50 p.m. for a report of two males fighting. According to police reports. Robinson punched 25-year-old Clinton Trout in the face during argument over past due rent.

When police arrived at the scene they found another man, 44-year-old John Adler,  who explained that Robinson also punched him in the face and took off with his car keys.

Investigators found Robinson inside of Borough Hall where he  refused to provide police with any information. Robinson fled from officers when they attempted to arrest him, police said.

An officer chased after Robinson and caught up with him along the first block of West Pomfret Street. When Robinson continued to resist arrest, the officer deployed his taser twice, police said. Unfazed, Robinson then knocked the officer to the ground and began punching him in the face multiple times according to police reports.

Another officer arrived at the scene and tased Robinson for a third time.

Robinson was arrested and taken to Cumberland County Prison in lieu of $100,000.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 28.

The injured officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment and later released.
