Cooler with a few showers to start the long weekend

FRIDAY:  We’re a bit cooler on the back side of a cold front today.  Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with a bit of energy aloft firing a few showers through the day.  Highs hit the upper 60s to near 70°.  Evening plans look fine with only a small shot at a few showers as temperatures fall through the 60s.  Tonight, we drop to near 50° under partly to mostly cloudy skies.

If you get a chance tonight, head outside! If the clouds cooperate, you may be able to see a great meteor shower. Try to get yourself away from city lights and stay out for 15 minutes to let your eyes adjust to the darkness for best chances!

HOLIDAY WEEKEND:  Saturday is a similar day to Friday with highs nudging up a few degrees to the low 70s.  Partly to mostly cloudy skies prevail with a shot at a few showers.  Sunday and Monday are sunny and much warmer.  Highs Sunday hit the upper 70s and by Monday we’re in the low 80s.  Enjoy!

BEACH:  It’s the first unofficial weekend of summer and many of you are heading to the shores.  From New Jersey to Maryland, expect a weekend with temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70s.  The Maryland shore will be warmest, in the mid 70s by Monday.  Saturday features a small chance for a few storms under partly cloudy skies.  Sunday & Monday will be sunny and dry.  Bring plenty of sun block!

NEXT WEEK:  We’ll see another system slip in to bring a shot at some more showers or storms Tuesday.  We top out in the middle 80s.  Showers will taper with temps falling a bit for mid week, back to the 70s.

Have a fantastic Friday and a safe and enjoyable weekend.  I’ll see you Saturday night!  I’m filling in for Andrea.
