Mechancisburg man accused of molesting two girls, stealing vehicle

Silver Spring Township police have charged a Mechanicsburg man who admitted to molesting two girls and stealing a vehicle.

Andrew Konetsco, 19, is charged with simple assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, theft by unlawful taking and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Investigators were notified when two girls, ages 6 and 16, came forward and claimed that they had been molested by Konetsco on multiple occasions. According to police reports, Konetsco began sexually assaulting the 16 year-old in 2011 and continued until 2012 when the girl was between 13 and 14 years of age. Konetsco admitted to police that he sexually assaulted the 16-year-old on two separate occasions, including choking her when she tried to stop him from kissing her and touching her inappropriately, investigators said.

According to police reports, Konetsco also admitted to having the 6-year-old sit on his lap and then touched her inappropriately under her clothing.

In a separate case–Konetsco admitted to police that he stole a vehicle on Nov. 14, 2013 from the first block of Hogestown Road. The vehicle was returned the following day with damage, according to a township police release. Konetsco told police he found keys to the vehicle in another vehicle parked on the property.  Konetsco admitted to hitting a parked car while driving the stolen vehicle and then returned it the next day, police said.

Konetsco was arrested and taken to Cumberland County Prison in lieu of $107,500 bail. $100,000 for for his sexual assault case and $7,500 for the theft charges.

A preliminary hearing is set for May 28.
