Overnight fire damages home in Derry Township

DERRY TOWNSHIP–An overnight fire damaged a home in the 100 block of West Governor Road in Derry Township, Dauphin County. It started just before 1:30 a.m.

According to fire officials, the fire appears to have started in the kitchen area after hot coals from a grill were put into garbage cans.

All six people were able to escape the home.

There’s no word yet on how much damage was caused.
