A Lancaster City woman is facing charges after police say she and another woman stole items from Walmart and concealed them in her 3-year-old child’s backpack.

Rachia Nalyn Thomas, 22, is charged with retail theft and corruption of minors, police said.

The incident happened Monday afternoon at the Walmart located at 2034 Lincoln Highway East in East Lampeter Township.

According to police reports, Thomas and another female concealed $210.32 worth of merchandise in the child’s backpack and left the store without paying for it.
