Warmer weather means getting a hair cut for most folks and for animals too.
On Saturday, alpacas got a trim at a shearing event was held at the Amish Markets near Hanover in York County.
The demonstration is in effort to get the community involved in the market’s upcoming events.
Alpaca fiber can be woven just like wool.
Carol Bowser, of Stormy Hill Alpacas says, “The fleece is just incredibly soft, there’s no lanolin, it comes in 22 natural colors and we make everything from scarves to hats to gloves.”
The Amish Markets just opened in December 2013.
It features a variety of shops, vendors and food stands.
