PA State Trooper shot several times in Dauphin County

A Pennsylvania State Trooper was shot several times in Dauphin County on Sunday evening.
The incident started around 6:30, when a man was driving in the area of Green Hill Road in West Hanover Township. Police say he was hitting mailboxes with his car and then pulled into a driveway.
When a state trooper approached, the suspect pulled out a gun and opened fire, shooting the trooper several times.
The trooper was able to return fire and shot the suspect.
Both the gunman, who is 49-years old, and the trooper were taken to the hospital for treatment.
There is no word on either of their conditions at this time. Their names have not been released.
