Body found in Susquehanna River

A body was found floating in the Susquehanna River in Swatara Township, Dauphin County late Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say a helicopter pilot was flying over the river when he spotted the body floating just down the river from Stucker Island. Three river rescue companies were called to the scene to retrieve the body.

The body was taken to Dauphin County Coroner’s office.

So far the identity has not been released but he has been identified as an African-American male.

Preliminary investigation does not reveal any foul play.
