A 4th person has died of mad-cow disease in the United States.
The patient, in Texas, is believed to have become infected while traveling abroad in Europe and the Middle East.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says there are no immediate threats to public health.
Mad-cow disease is a fatal brain order linked to eating beef from cattle with the disease.
Worldwide, more than 220 cases have been reported, mostly in Europe.
