Lemonade is a refreshing way to cool off on warm days.
In York County on Saturday, a young girl was selling cup after cup in honor of a classmate.
12-year old Sarah Foess operated an “Alex’s Lemonade Stand” outside the Books-A-Million store in Springettsbury Township.
This is the third year Sarah has hosted a lemonade stand to raise money for childhood cancer research, but this one holds even more meaning. Her classmate, Aaron Weiss, lost his battle with cancer on May 2nd.
Sarah organized the stand in his memory and is happy to raise money in his name.
“Around lunch time we got a lot of people going.. we’re gonna come back out for lemonade and lots of them did and so we got a lot of money and some people just didn’t want lemonade and they just donated so that’s good too,” says Sarah Foess.
Books-A-Million also donated 10-percent of all the books sold on Saturday to the Alex’s Lemonade Foundation.
