A Lancaster County teen fighting Stage 4 liver failure and a skin disorder called EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa) has passed away.
After a long fight, 16-year-old Ian Swarr, lost his battle Saturday.
Synder, who owns Synder’s Tattoos in Lancaster, says it was a blessing just to know Swarr.
Back in March, Synder hosted a fundraiser for Ian and his family.
“The turnout was incredible,” he said. “The last benefit we did, we raised a little over $2500 for him, nowhere near what I expected. I was expecting maybe $500.”
At that fundraiser Ian’s mom told us her son had a love for fire trucks and emergency personnel, which led to him being named ‘Honorary Fire Chief’ through the Rohrerstown Fire Company earlier this year.
Snyder says he now wants to continue to honor the hometown hero by holding another fundraiser in two weeks to help raise money for Ian’s family.
“All general tattoos that we do that day, we’re going to donate 50 percent of all the proceeds and then if anybody gets an EB tattoo that is designed or if they have a design that they want, we will donate 100 percent to Ian’s family,” he said.
Synder says he’s hoping for another great turnout in hopes of giving back in honor of a young man that gave so much to others.

Synder’s Tattoos Fundraiser in Ian’s honor will be held Friday, June 20 through Sunday, June 22.
