Shortly after midnight on Sunday June 1, 2014, a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Hershey Avenue and Union Street in Lancaster. The bicyclist suffered serious injuries including broken bones and multiple lacerations.
Police say the driver of the vehicle involved in this crash fled from the scene, and a reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to that driver. Evidence left behind at the scene suggests the suspect’s vehicle is a Nissan, unknown model, metallic purple in color. The vehicle should be missing the passenger side mirror, at least one gray wheel cover (hub cap) and possibly has broken widows. Tempered safety glass from a vehicle was left at the scene but it is unknown which window was broken on the suspect’s vehicle. The vehicle was last observed on Hershey Avenue toward Manor Street/Millersville Pike.
