Teens robbed at gunpoint in Lancaster County

Two teens were robbed at gun point yesterday on the 1500 block of Temple Avenue in Manor Township. The victims, ages 14 and 15, were robbed by two suspects in a green BMW. They pointed a a loaded .22 caliber handgun at the victims and demanded their money and cell phone.  The juveniles were able to provide a detailed description of the vehicle and suspects to the police.

Manor Township Police Department determined that the suspects were possibly in the area of the Park City Mall. Officers from East Hempfield Township, Manheim Township and Lancaster City responded to the area looking for the suspects. Officers located the vehicle and occupants matching the description leaving the Park City Mall. The suspects are identified as Michael Thomas Cates, 18, of Millersville, and David Leroy Carmichael Jr., 18, Lancaster.

Officer Brian Liddick from the Manor Township Police Department filed charges on the two suspects. They were charged with Robbery, Theft, Recklessly Endangering another person, Terroristic Threats, Firearms not to be carried without a license and other related charges. The suspects were transported to Lancaster County Prison for arraignment.
