The National Weather Service has issued a FLASH FLOOD WATCH until 11pm tonight.  The potential for localized very heavy rainfall of over 2 inches within a 30 to 60 minute period is likely.  This heavy rain may fall over the same places that received over an inch of rain yesterday afternoon and overnight.

A weak stationary front just to our east combined with a weak trough of low pressure which extends across the Susquehanna Valley is producing warm and humid conditions and triggering slow moving showers and thunderstorms containing very heavy rainfall.

FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS:  CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING.  IT IS VERY DANGEROUS SO BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR RAPIDLY RISING WATER.

THIS EVENING: A sticky evening for sure with dewpoints very high in the upper 60s to near 70. Scattered showers and isolated rumble of thunder will continue through the evening. Skies will remain mostly cloudy with haze and fog developing overnight once again. Temps fall out of the upper 70s to the low 70s.

MORNING: Lows will be mild in the mid to upper 60s. A few spots may remain around 70. There may be a stray shower otherwise, we are starting off steamy and warm with hazy and foggy conditions. Visibility may be limited for a few hours.

TOMORROW: Clouds remain pretty persistent with the flow out of the east-southeast much of the day. A warm front tries to move north through the area but gets stuck and will not make it out of the area until late tomorrow night into Thursday. This will keep highs in the upper 70s to around 80. Few afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be possible. Again they will have the potential with all the moisture in the atmosphere, to produce very heavy rainfall. It remains noticeably humid and warm with highs in the upper 70s to around 80.

OUTLOOK:  Low pressure rides towards the Great Lakes helping to drag the warm front across the area but with it remaining nearby, more numerous showers and thunderstorms will be likely Thursday. Temperatures will remain in the upper 70s to near 80. Friday a cold front will cross the area bringing a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. It will also bring a welcome end to the humidity as drier air funnels in by the weekend. Highs will be a few degrees warmer into the low 80s.

FATHER’S DAY: The upcoming holiday is looking almost perfect for dads. It will be mostly sunny and much more comfortable. Highs will warm to the low 80s. Next threat for showers and storms return late Monday and Tuesday.
