Camp fires, fishing, and nature walks– it sounds like a great way to enjoy this Father’s Day weekend.

All of those things were available for free at the Lancaster County Parks Environmental Center in Lampeter Township on Saturday.

The “Get Outdoors PA” event is part of a national initiative to bring outdoor experiences closer to residents.

“The goal is to just get folks outside enjoying our state and local parks and our county parks and try some different recreational activities that you actually have to be outside and moving to do, ” Program Manager, Tammy Agesen, said.

Families who came out on Saturday also got a shot at archery as well as nature photography.

The park is open to any member of the community and holds camps and events throughout the summer.
