The American Red Cross is providing shelter for an adult and three children after a fast moving fire destroys their Adams County home.  The fire broke out at about 1:30 this afternoon at the home in the 6200 block of Chambersburg Road in Franklin Township. The family was not at home when the fire broke out.

Smoke from the fire could be seen for more than two miles.  The home was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived on the scene. It took about 20 to 25 minutes to bring the fire under control. Buchanan Valley Fire Chief Michael Spielman says the fire began in the front living area of the home.

Damage is estimated at about $150,000.  A State Police Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
