Two men are arrested on gun and drug charges after one of them was spotted working the action on a handgun in the parking lot of a Sheetz. Police got  the call around 4am at the Sheetz located at 1180 Manheim Pike. A concerned citizen called in to report a man in a dark colored SUV handling the gun.

Officers arrived and then saw the vehicle, a black 2009 Nissan Rogue with two occupants, leaving the Sheetz parking lot and go the wrong way on a one-way street. When police pulled the car over, they found a Masterpiece Arms handgun with a barrel extender inside the vehicle. They also found a marijuana bowl and a clear glass container with what they suspected was marijuana residue. Police say both suspects have prior criminal convictions which prohibit them from possessing firearms.

The suspects were identified as Harry Cooke, 25, of the 1300 block of Orchard Street, Lancaster, and Steven Neal, 24, of the first block of Charlotte Street, Manheim.

Cooke is charged with Persons Not to Possess a Firearm, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Neal is charged with Persons Not to Possess a Firearm, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving on One Way Roadways.

Both men are awaiting arraignment.

While gun ownership is legal, automatic pistols with barrel extenders arent. And one of these persons were set to be sentenced monday on gun charges. Futhermore, theres a permit to carry a concealed weapon, and a right to open carry, which would mean to have your gun in the open, in a holster,on your body. Not holdng it up for all to see and playin with it. Good job concerned citizen, a sh!t leapord doesnt change its stripes.
