HOT & HUMID: As promised the summer time, sultry heat and humidity are here. We start near 70° today and end near 90° in many spots, with plenty of stuffy air to go around. High clouds slide in as puffy cumulus clouds develop through the afternoon. A few showers and storms may bubble, but we expect a big complex of storms to just skirt by to our north. Any storms today could pack a punch. Tonight, we drop off into the 70s again with the chance for some storms by daybreak.
WEDNESDAY BOOMERS: A cold front sags south on Wednesday. Couple this with some upper level energy and plenty of moisture and surface energy; we have the ingredients for some organized severe storms. While the exact timing and location are yet to be forecast, we do expect a good shot later in the day of seeing a line of storms develop and race eastward through the state. Storms will contain gusty winds and maybe some hail. Stay alert and we’ll fine tune the details. Highs for the day will be near 90° with lots of stuffy air again.
LATE WEEK: The front is over us on Thursday, with scattered showers and storms likely through the day. Temps are held in the middle 80s though. By Friday, showers and storms will taper a bit with slightly cooler and less humid air in play for one day only. Highs hit the low 80s.
WEEKEND: The cold front will stall out and wiggle north again for the weekend. Showers and storms are in the cards Saturday and again Sunday. Highs are in the low 80s and upper 70s with muggies back in the cards. The best chance for rain is Sunday here, with storm chances spilling over into Monday too.
Enjoy your Tuesday. Summer arrives Saturday at 6:51AM!
