Man flees hit-n-run scene; attempts to hide drugs in yard

A Hanover man fled the scene of a hit-n-run crash and allegedly tried to hide drugs in a nearby yard.

West Manheim Township police arrested and charged Jeremy James Long, 31 with driving under the influence, possession of controlled substances, tampering with physical evidence and several traffic violations.

Police say Long was driving north in the 1900 block of Baltimore Pike when he crossed over the center line and slammed into an on-coming vehicle.

Long fled the scene in his car before abandoning it along Fairview Drive. Police say Long continued on foot attempting to hide drugs in a yard before being caught.

According to police, Long was taken to central booking for arraignment, the victim in the crash sustained minor injuries and both cars had to be towed from the scene.
