A Lackawanna County is sentenced to a year in federal prison for threatening to kill President Obama. 42 year old Nicholas Savino, of Clarks Summit had posted a threat to kill the President on the White House website in August 2013.
Savino admitted to sending a threat that read: “President Obama the Anti-Christ. As a result of breaking the constitution you will stand down or be shot dead.”
He was indicted by a federal grand jury in September 2013 following an investigation by the Secret Service and Clarks Summit Police.
Under a plea deal, Savino will also forfeit three firearms and approximately 11,000 round of ammunition seized by federal agents from his apartment and vehicle. He must also serve two years on supervised release following his prison sentence and pay a $3,000 fine.
