Prosecutors announced Wednesday they will seek the death penalty against a Lancaster man who is accused of stabbing his 27-year-old wife to death on May 2.

Assistant District Attorney Christopher P. Larsen, filed a notice of intent last Thursday seeking the death penalty against Carrington K. Joseph.

Joseph, 27,  admitted to stabbing his wife, Melissa, multiple times inside their home along the 500 block of Sterling Place in Lancaster Township, police said.

Melissa was taken to Lancaster General Hospital–where she was pronounced dead.

Joseph waived his preliminary hearing on May 8. No trial date has been set.

He remains in Lancaster County Prison without bail.
