A Manchester Township resident got into a scuffle with a would be burglar early this morning. It happened around 2:15am in the 1300 block of Sterling Drive. The resident saw a black Honda coupe circling the neighborhood.  He then watched as the vehicle park near his home and two suspects, described as white males exit the vehicle.  The suspects walked up the driveway and then towards the open door on the attached garage.  One of the suspects entered into the garage and tripped the motion detector light.

The resident then confronted the suspect and a struggle ensued.  The struggle continued from the garage onto the front yard of an adjacent home.  The suspect was able to escape and ran from the area.  The resident was not sure where the second suspect had fled to.

Arriving police officers found the Honda coupe unoccupied and impounded the car.

Officers were not able to find the suspects in the area.

Police think the suspects were stealing items out of vehicles in the area and that the attempted burglary of the home was an extension of those thefts.

If you live in the western portion of Manchester Township and your vehicle was entered or items were stolen from your vehicle please contact the Northern York County Regional Police by calling 911.
