Interstate 83 at the York Split is now reopened to traffic. The highway had been closed since soon after 7 a.m. to both directions of traffic between the I-83 York Split (Exit 41) in Lemoyne and the I-83 Exit 40 for New Cumberland, Cumberland County. The interstate was closed because electrical wires were hit by a construction vehicle and knocked down across the highway. PPL arrived on the scene and removed the live wires so that the highway could be reopened to traffic shortly after 8 a.m.
