Lebanon City Police seek a suspect in a late Thursday night shooting incident. Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of North 5th and East Weidman Streets just before midnight. At nearly the same time there was a report of an assault involving a knife in the same area.

A 35 year old man told officers that he was walking west in the 500 block of Scull Street when another man approached and said in Spanish, “I am going to kill you”  The suspect used a small weapon in his hand and attacked the victim causing superficial cuts to the victim’s side.

The victim armed with a handgun then fired three rounds at the suspect in apparent self defense. Police could find no indication that the victim was struck by the gun fire. The suspect ran away headed south from Scull Street. Police say the victim had a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 170 pounds and wore a half mask covering his face.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Lebanon City Police at (717) 272-6611 or Crime Stoppers at (717) 270-9800.
