Google and Microsoft plan to include a “kill switch” in the next version of their smartphone operating systems.

The switch deletes all of your personal information if a thief gets a hold of it.

Newer versions of Apple’s IOS already include versions of a kill switch and Samsung launched a similar system last month.

Experts say with Google and Microsoft on board, kill switches will be available to 97% of the smartphone market.
