There’s a major effort to help people living with a life-threatening disease in Harrisburg.

Brewers Fest raises money to help fund research of cystic fibrosis. It affects about 30-thousand kids and adults in the United States.  The body creates a mucus that can badly impact the lungs and pancreas.
And over the last 11-years, Brewers Fest has brought in more than a million dollars to help the cystic fibrosis foundation find a cure.

“The goal is to keep working on the research, supporting the research so that we get better medication for C.F. patients and so that ultimately we have a cure for all C.F. patients, not only in this country, but all over the world.   ” foundation member Dr. Stuart Warren said.

“It’s great to see people coming out and supporting a good cause that affects my kids, and research, and the things that they need. It’s a great community event and it produces a lot of hard ties for me,” Jay McCumber said, who is a father of children with the disorder.

The C.F. Foundation supports the development of new drugs to fight the disease and hopes to one day find a cure.
