A Susquehanna Township woman is facing drug charges after police say she invited officers inside her home to smoke marijuana with her early Wednesday morning.

Laurel Smith, 59, is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness. According to police reports, officers responded to the 200 block of Cherrington Drive around 2:38 a.m.  after Smith called 911 and requested police.

Smith told dispatchers that when officers got to her home they could find her in the back, smoking marijuana.

Police said Smith became loud and belligerent with responding officers and later asked them to come in the house and smoke marijuana with her. She then escorted the officers into her home and turned over her stash.

Smith was processed and released from custody, police said. The charges will be delivered via summons.
