HEAT IS ON:  Here we go!  Hotter air is en route to the commonwealth to start of the work week.  Highs today are in the upper 80s with humidity ramping up as well.  We’re partly cloudy with a few showers and storms possible later in the day.  Lows tonight drop to the upper 60s with stuffy air locked in place.

SIZZLE TIME:  Tuesday, we ramp up to the low 90° with lots of sticky air in place.  It’s partly cloudy with the chance for some showers and thunderstorms late in the day.  Some of the storms may produce some gusty, damaging winds along with frequent lightning.  Wednesday, a cold front nears.  Don’t be fooled though, we’re still on the hot side of it.  Highs once again top out in the low to middle 90s.  The shot at some late day strong storms is back again.  Heat index values for mid week will exceed 100°, so be sure to take it easy and stay hydrated.

STORMS:  Thursday, the cold front moves through the area.  We’re hot again with highs into the upper 80s.  Showers and thunderstorms fire through the day, and some could be a bit bumpy.  Storms will taper overnight into Friday.

RAIN CHANCES

4th OF JULY:  High pressure builds on Friday, just in time for the holiday.  We’ll see temperatures back off, dropping to the low 80s.  The humidity drops a bit as well!  For now, it looks mainly clear and dry.  Perfect for cookouts and fireworks displays!

WEEKEND:  As of now, high pressure looks to cool us a seasonably warm and humid weekend.  Highs look to hold in the middle 80s with a bit of humidity and low storm chances.  We’ll keep watching the trends for you!

TROPICS:  We’re monitoring a low pressure off the coast of Florida.   It looks as if this may develop into a tropical depression by midweek.  Our late week cold front should be enough to steer any tropical activity well out to sea by the weekend, but that may make for rough seas at the beach.  We’ll keep watching it closely.
