Police in York County say a Dover Township man died in a crash involving a flatbed tractor trailer on Route 30 in Manchester Township Wednesday afternoon. Brent Amspacher, 31, was the driver of a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant. Amspacher was northbound on Toronita Street when he made a left turn onto westbound Route 30.
After making the turn, his car went about 100 yards in the left lane before going over a raised cement median. The car collided with trailer portion of a 2002 Kenworth tractor trailer driven by a 45 year old Airville man. The big rig had been stopped in the left turn lane of Route 30 waiting to turn left onto Toronita Street.
Amspacher was trapped in the car beneath the trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner.
Northern York County Regional Police say their investigation into the crash continues.
