East Hempfield Township Police arrested a man who they say robbed a grocery store with a screwdriver.

Endalew Desta, 28, of Lancaster, is facing charges of theft and robbery after police say he entered Bruke International Grocery and Gifts store in the 100 block of Rohrerstown Road in Lancaster County and took items from the store.

A store employee recognized Desta and confronted him police said, that’s when Desta pulled out a screwdriver and threatened the employee.

Desta fled the scene in his vehicle. He was later located by Northwest Regional Polcie and taken into custody.

 

 

 

East Hempfield Township Police have arrested and charged a man with robbery. Police say the robbery happened on Friday when Endalew Desta went into the Bruke International Grocery and Gifts store in the 100 block of Rohrerstown Road in Lancaster County and took items from the store. A store employee recognized Desta and confronted him. Police say Desta then pulled out a screwdriver and threatened the employee. Desta fled the scene in his car. Police located his car and he was taken into custody. He’s facing robbery and retail theft charges.
