The city of Harrisburg invited families to take part in a 3-day “Walkaround” this holiday weekend, to enjoy all that it has to offer. An event Sunday at Italian Lake, was the third and final event of the Independence Day weekend, with food, performers, music and children’s activities.
On Friday, folks enjoyed similar gatherings at Reservoir Park and Saturday at City Island.
Jackie Parker, Executive Director of Community & Economic Development with the city of Harrisburg says, “When you see our parks and the expanse of our parks, to walk and enjoy the outdoors, picnic and just really enjoy those amenities that are a part of our park system.”
The “Walkaround” will end with a concert Sunday night.
Organizers hope the entire event opened folks up to Harrisburg’s culture, history and features.
