An electrical problem may have led to a fire that destroyed an ambulance in Cumberland County. Police and fire crews reported a call reporting the fire at about 5:15 pm this evening in the 300 block of Lowther Street in Lemoyne Borough.

The Exeter Township ambulance was engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived on the scene. The fire was quickly brought under control. The fire caused the busy stretch of roadway to be closed to traffic for over an hour.

Police say the ambulance had recently been serviced for an electrical issue.
