Carlisle Police arrest a man wanted for attempted murder in a May 31st shooting in the Borough.  Warren Genell Bennett II was taken into custody just before 10pm on July 4th after a foot chase. Police found Bennett hiding in a back yard after he ran from a car that officers stopped on East Penn Street near the intersection with North Bedford Street. Officers were aware that Bennett was in the car at the time of the stop and that there were outstanding charges for his arrest.

James Felix Walker was shot multiple times on the evening of May 31st in the area of North Pitt Street and A Street in Carlisle. Evidence collected at the scene as well as witness testimony led to Bennett being charged with Criminal Attempt Murder, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Simple Assault, and Firearms Violations. The victim, James Walker, survived the shooting.

Police are still looking into the possibility that there was a second shooter involved in the assault on Walker. Anybody with information about the identity of the second shooter is asked to contact the Carlisle Police Department at 717-243-5252.
