A fugitive wanted on kidnapping and armed robbery charges in South Carolina was arrested late Sunday in Dauphin County, police said.

Christopher Eldridge Smith, 34, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, was taken into custody in Lower Paxton Township Sunday night.

Acting on a tip, police stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of the A-Plus at 4260 Jonestown Road. Smith was a passenger and had a warrant for his arrest out of the York County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina, investigators said.

Police arrested him on charges including two counts of kidnapping and one count of armed robbery with a deadly weapon.

Smith had been on the run since June 30.

He was taken to the Dauphin County Judicial Center pending extradition to South Carolina.
