A man advertising a ring for sale on Craigslist was robbed at gunpoint at his East Hemfield Township residence. It happened around 9:40pm Monday night. The robber called the victim to set up a meeting to look at the ring at Madison Barrcrest Manor Apartments, 1707 Marietta Avenue. While they were talking about the price, the suspect pulled a small black semi-automatic handgun and demanded the ring. The suspect then fled the apartment with the ring and left in an unknown vehicle. The victim said the ring was valued at $3,250.00.

No one was injured during the Robbery.

The suspect arrived at the apartment complex at approximately 9:10pm and left about 20 minutes later. He is described as a white male, 5’8″-6’0″ tall, mid 30’s, dirty blonde hair, and clean shaven wearing a black t-shirt.

Police are warning people of the inherent dangers associated with dealing with unknown parties online. Meeting privately with or allowing people you do not know into your home is ill-advised.

Police continue to investigate leads in the above case and are asking anyone that may have information regarding this incident, including the possible vehicle used, to contact Detective Christopher Chase, East Hempfield Township Police Department, 717-898-3103.
