An elderly Spring Garden man was walking his dog Saturday when he was attacked by two pit bulls. It happened around 10:30am at the intersection of Country Club Road and Wiltshire Road. The victim, 78, tried to protect his dog, a Shi-Poo, when the pit bulls attacked it. In doing so, he suffered multiple lacerations to his arms and hands and abrasions to his arms and legs. The Shi-Poo died as a result of its injuries. The victim was treated at York Hospital. The pit bulls were taken into custody near the scene of the attack.
Their owner, Jasmine McKinnis, 29, of York, was charged with harboring dangerous dogs, not having them vaccinated against rabies and not having dog licenses. The pit bulls were turned over to the SPCA to be euthanized.
