Officer involved shooting in Lancaster City

An unidentified teenager suffers a non-life threatening gunshot wound in a police involved a police involved shooting in Lancaster City. It happened just after 8 o’clock.  It began when police attempted a traffic stop in the area of the 500 block of Fairview Avenue.  The driver of the vehicle continued without stopping. The suspect got out of the vehicle near Prospect street and allegedly pointed a weapon at police. Police fired several shots hitting the suspect. He is being treated at a local hospital.

An officer responding to the incident crashed into a pole at the intersection of Manor and Prospect Streets. The investigation continues.
