Third man arrested, charged with homicide in August shooting of Lebanon man

A third man has been arrested in connection to an Aug. 3 shooting that claimed the life of 33-year-old Juan Rodriguez, police said.

Jones Torres, 23, was arrested by police in Puerto Rico on June 17. He was extradited back to Lebanon late Thursday to be arraigned.  Torres was taken to Lebanon County Correctional Facility without bail.

Rodriguez was shot multiple times around  near 9th and Mifflin Streets on Aug. 3, 2013 and later died.

David Rivera, 35, of McElhattan was arrested on Feb. 21 and charged with criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy to commit homicide, persons not to possess firearms, possession of a firearm without a license, perjury and tampering with evidence. Police allege that it was Rivera who shot Juan Rodriguez.

Jorge Roque Jr, 26, of Lebanon, was arrested on Feb. 11 and charged with criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy to commit homicide, persons not to possess firearms, possession of a firearm without a license, perjury, obstruction of justice, hindering apprehension and tampering with evidence. Roque was driving the getaway vehicle and Torres was a passenger, police said.
