It’s been almost a week since Dauphin County District Attorney, Ed Marsico announced murder charges in the death of 27 year old, Erica Klinger.

Police say Luis Lugo-Davila strangled Erica in a Swatara Township, Dauphin County motel room in June after an argument over drugs.

Monday night’s dreary weather set the mood while friends and family paid respects at Italian Lake in Harrisburg.

“I cry alot…” says Erica’s friend, Azaria Skivington.

Emotions spoke loud when we asked friends how they’re coping..

They remember a girl with a smile, who they say, was never involved in drugs.

“No she was always happy, she never seemed like she was on anything ever,” says Skivington.

District attorney, Ed Marsico says Luis Lugo-Davila killed Erica Klinger after an argument over heroin.

But Erica’s father says the 27 year old lived at home and he never saw any signs of drug use.

“My daughter would not know heroin, no I don’t want to hear that. They did that stuff to rob her and everything else, I don’t want to hear it was for heroin, I don’t want to hear that,” says Erica’s father, Lawrence Klinger.

He says all of this (ceremonies to remember his daughter) is hard.

The only thing that will bring him peace is knowing that both Lugo-Davila and his girlfriend, Maria Lara, are held responsible.

“When they put them both behind jail walls and give them the death penalty, that’s what I’m looking for,” says Klinger.

Police have not charged Lara in Erica’s death because they say she wasn’t involved.

Lara was arrested for theft after she was caught in Erica’s car after her disappearance.

Erica’s father has a meeting planned with Ed Marisco on Tuesday to learn law enforcement’s reasoning for not charging Lara.
