Over 600 police officers and fire fighters from around the world are competing in York County.

Thursday morning, officers showed off their riding skills in Wrightsville.  It’s one of nearly 50 sports offered at venues throughout York County.  The 29 mile road race took Matthew Randolph under and half and a half to complete.  The police sergeant in Ephrata took home the gold in four cycling events.
He says, “I just wanted to come out and enjoy competition with fellow first responders and I am a cyclist too, so I enjoy competing as well.”

Randolph says he’s like to think he’s a better first responder than he is an athlete!

Crossing the finish line isn’t the only goal on the Can-Ams.  The York County Visitors Bureau expects to bring in over $2 million.

The games will continue until Sunday.
