“BrewFest is really a celebration of not only local breweries, but also regional and some national brewing companies,” said Michelle Hornberger, the Assistant Program Coordinator for the Dauphin County Parks and Recreation Department.

Megan Moore traveled from Salisbury, Maryland to give Central PA a taste of Evolution Craft Brewing Company.

“Literally people try it for the first time and say, ‘wow,’ which is really great to see,” Moore said.

Really the way to get their name out there is by getting the liquid into people’s mouths,” added Jess Horn, the craft brand manager for Wilsbach Distributors Incorporated. “The tasting and the sampling is their grassroots effort to promoting their brands.”

Mike Sheridan is from Detroit, Michigan.  He says BrewFest was worth the 500 mile drive.

“Seeing the different vendors, the different beers, and the food; and just local products developed by local people,” Sheridan said when asked what his favorite part of BrewFest was.

“This is great,” added Bryan Seidl from Redding, Pennsylvania.  “It’s by the river, meeting people, with family; just having a good time.”

All the proceeds from BrewFest will go to the Dauphin County Parks and Recreational Department to provide free activities to the community throughout the year.
